Qmobile vs. Voice vs. GFive
Qmobile can be considered a pioneer in Pakistani smart phone market. Affordable and quality touch screen phones is what made Qmobile the market leader of Pakistani smartphones market. But we have seen some competition ever since, from local as well as international mobile phone manufacturers. Though Samsung and Huawei are the top mobile phone manufacturers worldwide yet they can not compete local manufacturers on price.
We have chosen three mid range smart phones made by the three of the most renowned Pakistani smart phone manufacturers for this detailed heads on comparison.
Talking of Pakistani Smart Phones, this is an important feature in a smart phone and since samsung has introduced large screen mobile phones people have started to like big screen phones and many Pakistanis may prefer a big screen over high resolution. However all three smart phones have packed huge display screens which can provide decent resolution and vibrant colors.
Gfive Bravo G95 boasts the biggest display of all, a 5.3 inches WVGA (800×480) resolution 262K Color TFT LCD. Its body dimensions are 149.5 x 83 x 10.9mm. Whereas
Qmobile Noir A8
has a 4.3 Inches display screen with the same display resolution. Which is not necessarily a bad thing and depends on the user. I for one would prefer a reasonable sized display over a larger one. A*’s body dimensions are 130 x 67 x 9.8 mm.
Voice Xtreme V40
Last one in the comparison is Voice Extreme V40. It has a 4.5 inch IPS qHD Touchscreen having a resolution of 960 X 540. Its body dimesnions are 134 x 67 x 10.5mm.
Winner: Voice V40 is a winner of this round as it has the IPS qHD display having the highest resolution. Even though GFive has a bigger screen but not only a screen that big may become a nuisance, a bigger screen with low resolution means a compromise on the quality of the display as well
Qmobile has 512MB RAM to support its 1 GHz dual core processor. Has dual sim capability which operate on GSM 900 and GSM 1800. It has 4 GB internal memory and 32 GB microSD card support.
Voice V40′s internals are slightly more powerful on paper. Although it has the same amount of memory and storage capacity as qmobile and it is a dual sim mobile as well. but a 1.2 GHz dual core cortex a7 processor makes it slightly better than noir.
A single core 1GHz Cortex A9 processor along with the absence of dual sim capability makes G95 a somewhat lower end smart phone in comparison to its rivals. but considering the price factor, G95 is still a good option for people who prefer a bigger screen over a processor. It has the same amount of memory and data storage capacity as of qmobile and voice.
Winner: Its a tie between the Noir A8 and Xtreme V40. they are both at par with each other and despite the fact that voice v40′s processor is clocked at a slightly higher frequency, the performance however is about the same. Although we tried but we were unable to get performance benchmarks of both the phones.
Another important feature is mobile phone’s camera. We are not going to go in details of this comparison as it becomes quite clear even a brief inspection which phone has a better camera.
Noir A8 has a 5MP camera and a secondary vga camera for video calls. whereas the other two smartphones have 8MP camera and front cameras with the capability of face detection and better shutter speeds.
Winner: Though its a tough one between Voice V40 and Bravo G95, but due to a slightly better camera resolution and better frames per second of the camcorder, we’re gonna side with Voice V40.
Body/ Form Factor
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And quite frankly, Voice V40 and Qmobile A8 look quite similar to each other. Gfive G95 on the other hand has a fine body, but due to its overly big screen it leaves us with Voice V40 and Qmobile A8.
Winner: Despite the resemblance of the two smart phones, Noir A8 takes the cake due to its seamless design and the fact that it is 0.7 mm thinner than Voice V40.
Quite a straightforward yet an important factor is price. GFive has the most attractive (lowest)price tag of Pkr11,000. Whereas Qmobile is the most expensive of three and costs Pkr13800. Voice V40 has a price of Pkr13500.
Winner: Though Gfive Bravo G95 is the winner of this round, but Voice V40 gives you best value for your money.
This again is a simple comparison to put things in perspective before buying your next phone. Voice V40 comes with the latest android version i.e. 4.2 jelly Bean. And I happen to talk with the customer support and they assured me that they next android version will be available for their smartphones as and when it becomes available. Qmobile A8 on other hand initially came with Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich but the new models are upgradable to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1. And GFive Bravo G95 is comes with Android 4.0.3 which is not upgradable.
Winner: Clearly Voice Xtreme V40 wins this round as well and combine that with 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor and we have the best user experience amongst the three phones.
Last but not the least is the comparison of the batteries that these phones come with. Although it mostly depends on the type of usage, but GFive packs the biggest battery of 2500mAh in its large body whereas Voice V40 and Qmobile A8 has 2050mAh and 1800mAh batteries respectively.
Winner: Gfive is a winner in this category as it has the biggest battery, and gives a talk time of more than five hours.
Though all the three phones have something to offer e.g. G95 has the biggest screen and smallest price tag, A8 is the lightest and looks great. But Voice Xtreme V40 has the most balanced set of features which makes it a great all rounded smartphone.
